Texas RAS Fee Schedule

Plan review and inspection fees for projects registered with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation under the Architectural Barriers program. Fees are based on estimated construction cost per 16 TAC Chapter 68.

About This Fee Schedule

The Texas Architectural Barriers program requires that commercial construction projects with an estimated construction cost of $50,000 or more be registered with TDLR and reviewed by a licensed Registered Accessibility Specialist (see 16 TAC §68.50(a) and §68.20(g)). Projects below $50,000 are not required to register — TAS compliance still applies to the building regardless of the registration threshold. Accessance Consulting is available to provide optional plan review and inspection services for projects below $50,000 upon request.

All fees are established in a written proposal before any work begins. TDLR registration fees are pass-through charges billed at cost.

Travel & Additional Charges

Travel charges apply to inspections and site visits outside the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. All travel charges are itemized in the project proposal before any work begins.

  • Mileage — billed at the current IRS standard business mileage rate (currently $0.76/mile as of July 1, 2026) for round-trip distance from Hunt County, Texas
  • Drive time — billed at the applicable hourly rate for time spent in transit exceeding one hour each way
  • Overnight stays — required for projects beyond approximately 3–4 hours' drive; hotel at cost plus applicable per diem
  • Air travel and ground transportation — required for remote locations; billed at cost with advance coordination

A travel zone schedule is in development and will be published here. Contact us for a travel cost estimate specific to your project location.

Additional Services

  • Re-inspection — required when follow-up field verification is needed to confirm correction of deficiencies; fee established in the project proposal
  • Phased or multi-building projects — projects with unusual scope, phased construction, or multiple buildings on a single registration may require a project-specific proposal
  • Expedited review — available on request, subject to current workload; contact us to discuss

Notes on Texas RAS Conflict of Interest

For projects registered with TDLR, Accessibility Consulting and RAS plan review or inspection services must be provided by different specialists per Texas Administrative Rule §68.76(c)(3). Accessance Consulting observes this requirement without exception. See the Services page for a full explanation of the two service tracks.

Ready to submit a project? Contact us with the project name, location, estimated construction cost, and TDLR TABS number if registration is already complete. We will confirm availability and provide a written fee proposal the same business day.
